Global Settings
From this page, you can change the overall network settings for your server by configuring the IP settings as well as specifying the DNS suffixes and the LMHOSTS and HOSTS file to use. These files can be used to resolve the names of any computer or device. Note that the DNS suffix used here applies when the server is trying to resolve a host or domain name.
To automatically set or change DNS suffixes
- On the primary navigation bar, choose Network.
- Choose Global Settings.
- Select the DNS Resolution tab.
- Select the Append primary DNS suffix button.
- Optional: you may choose to Append parent suffixes of the primary DNS suffix by selecting the check box.
- Choose OK.
To manually add specific DNS suffixes
- On the Network page, choose Global Settings.
- Select the DNS Resolution tab.
- Select the Append the following DNS suffixes, in order of use button.
- In the Domain suffix box, type the DNS suffix you want to add, and then choose Add.
- Choose OK.
To manually remove specific DNS suffixes
- On the Network page, choose Global Settings.
- Select the DNS Resolution tab.
- Select the Append the following DNS suffixes, in order of use button.
- Use the Up and Down buttons to scroll through the list of domain suffixes. Select the suffix you want to delete, and then choose Remove.
- Choose OK.
