Enabling FTP Logging

You can log incoming FTP connections to the FTP log by enabling FTP Logging. By default, FTP logs are stored by in %windir%\system32\logfiles\msftpsvc1.

Administrators can access these files from their workstation by either accessing an administrative share—for example, \\appliancename\admin$\winnt\system32—or by creating a new share for this folder.

To enable FTP Logging

  1. On the primary navigation bar, choose Shares.
  2. Choose Sharing Protocols.
  3. Select FTP Protocol, and then choose Properties.
  4. Select the Logging tab.
  5. Select the Enable logging check box, and then choose OK.
